Terms of Service

Summit & Spokes POS Filters · last updated 16 September 2026

The short version. You pay through Shopify and can cancel any time from your own admin. We keep your filter settings working and answer your emails. The app reads your catalog but never your customers. Neither of us is promising the other anything extravagant, and our liability is capped at what you have paid us.

1. Who these terms are between

These terms are an agreement between Summit & Spokes LLC (“we”, “us”), a limited liability company registered in Oregon, United States, and the merchant installing the POS Filters application (“you”). Installing the app means you accept them.

If you are accepting on behalf of a company, you confirm you are authorized to bind it.

2. What the app does

POS Filters adds a structured product finder to the Shopify POS home screen, letting your staff narrow your catalog by category, product type, brand, collection, price range, variant options and metafields, with live per-location stock, and add items to the cart. An administration page in your Shopify admin lets you choose which filters your staff see and curate the values behind them.

The app requires an active Shopify store and Shopify POS. We are not affiliated with, endorsed by, or acting on behalf of Shopify.

3. Fees, plans and cancellation

  • A free plan is available with a limited number of filter groups. Paid plans are charged monthly through Shopify’s billing system. Current pricing is shown on our App Store listing and inside the app.
  • Shopify bills you and remits to us. We never see your payment card details.
  • You can cancel at any time from the app’s billing page or by uninstalling. There is no minimum term, no cancellation fee and nobody to contact first.
  • Charges already made are not refunded on a pro-rata basis when you cancel mid-cycle, because Shopify’s billing does not support it. If something has genuinely gone wrong, email us and we will sort it out.
  • If we change our prices, your existing subscription is not affected. Shopify has no mechanism to alter the amount of a subscription you have already approved. A new price only ever applies to a new subscription that you separately approve.

4. Data processing

This section is our data processing agreement with you. There is no separate document to sign.

4.1 Roles

For data we process from your Shopify store, you are the data controller and we act as your processor, on your instructions. For your own account information — your shop domain, plan and subscription status — we are the controller.

4.2 Scope and purpose

We process your product, inventory and location data for one purpose: to provide the search and filtering the app exists to perform. The app requests no access to customers, orders, draft orders or checkout, and holds no personal information about any shopper. Our Privacy Policy sets out exactly what is stored.

4.3 What we will not do

We will not sell your data, use it for advertising, use it to train models, or use it for any purpose other than operating the app for you.

4.4 Sub-processors

We use Fly.io for application hosting and Neon for database hosting, both in the United States, and Shopify for distribution and billing. We will update the Privacy Policy before adding another.

4.5 Security, assistance and deletion

We encrypt data in transit, restrict production access to the owner of the business, and hold credentials in a managed secret store. We will assist you with data subject requests and regulator inquiries so far as they concern data we hold, and will tell you without undue delay if that data is exposed. When you uninstall, we delete your shop’s data within 48 hours of receiving Shopify’s redaction request.

5. Your responsibilities

  • Keep your Shopify account secure. Anyone with access to your admin can change what your staff see in the app.
  • Make sure you are entitled to process the data in your own store, and that your own privacy notices cover it.
  • Do not attempt to breach, overload, reverse engineer or resell the app, or use it to break the law or Shopify’s own terms.

6. Support and availability

Support is by email at support@summitandspokes.com, answered personally, with a target first response of one business day. That is a target, not a guarantee.

We aim to keep the app running continuously and depend on Shopify, Fly.io and Neon to do so. We do not offer a service level agreement or an uptime guarantee. We may take the app down for maintenance, and will avoid doing so without warning where we reasonably can.

7. Intellectual property

The app, its source code, its name and its branding remain ours. Your data remains yours; nothing here transfers any ownership of it to us.

8. Disclaimer of warranties

The app is provided “as is”. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the app will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that the results it displays will always be accurate — stock levels in particular are read from Shopify and are only ever as current as the data Shopify returns.

9. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, neither party is liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for lost profits, revenue, data or goodwill.

Our total liability arising out of or relating to these terms is limited to the amount you paid us for the app in the twelve months before the event giving rise to the claim. If you are on the free plan, that amount is zero.

Some jurisdictions do not allow these exclusions, in which case they apply only so far as the law permits.

10. Indemnity

You agree to indemnify us against claims arising from your use of the app in breach of these terms or of applicable law, including claims relating to data in your store that you were not entitled to process.

11. Termination

You may stop using the app at any time by uninstalling it. We may suspend or terminate access if these terms are breached, if required by Shopify, or if we discontinue the app — in which case we will give as much notice as we reasonably can. On termination, section 4.5 governs deletion of your data, and sections 7 to 10 survive.

12. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms and will change the date at the top. If a change materially affects you, we will notify you by email or inside the app. Continuing to use the app after a change means you accept it.

13. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Oregon, United States, without regard to its conflict of law rules. The courts of Multnomah County, Oregon have exclusive jurisdiction, except that either party may seek injunctive relief in any competent court.
